How does an Indian manufacturer obtain CE marking for the EU?
CE marking is the manufacturer's declaration that a product meets every applicable EU harmonisation rule. The Indian manufacturer must identify the rules, assemble the technical file and sign the declaration of conformity.
What an Indian company should prepare
- Identify every directive and regulation that applies to the product.
- Compile and retain the technical documentation and test evidence.
- Sign the EU declaration of conformity and use a notified body only when the applicable act requires one.
