EU Deforestation Regulation for Indian suppliers

What traceability does an Indian supplier need under the EUDR?

Covered cattle, coffee, rubber, soya, wood and other commodities need plot-level geolocation and proof that production did not follow post-2020 deforestation. Trader-level traceability is not enough.

What an Indian company should prepare

  1. Collect plot coordinates and production periods for every covered shipment.
  2. Document no deforestation after 31 December 2020 and compliance with Indian law.
  3. Complete the risk assessment and pass the due diligence statement reference to the EU buyer.
