REACH for Indian chemical exporters
How can an Indian chemical manufacturer comply with EU REACH?
A non-EU manufacturer cannot register directly. Registration above the tonnage threshold must be held by the EU importer or an EU only representative, while restrictions and communication duties can also reach substances in articles.
What an Indian company should prepare
- Choose importer registration or appoint an EU only representative.
- Prepare the dossier and chemical safety evidence for the tonnage band.
- Check restrictions, authorisation, CLP labels and candidate-list communication duties.
