When does the EU Anti Money Laundering Regulation apply?
The Anti Money Laundering Regulation (EU) 2024/1624 entered into force in 2024 but, under Article 90, applies from 10 July 2027. From that date the rules apply directly in every member state without national implementation. Banks, payment firms and other obliged entities should therefore have adapted their customer due diligence routines before then. Some individual provisions apply later.
